Rice Creek, like other tributaries of great rivers, not only sustains the life on its banks and uplands, but also acts as a guide for birds and other migrating wildlife through a treacherous maze of metal, glass and asphalt. Yet the city pulses with growth, always pushing against the green. Progress looms on the horizon.
2018 Project Art for Nature: Natural Reflections
White Bear Center for the Arts, White Bear Lake, MN
Medium: Woodcut & Collagraph
Edition Size: 12
Image Size: 3" x 9"
Paper Size: 6" x 12"
Paper Type: Rives BFK
Framing Option: 8" x 14" black aluminum frame with white matboard and regular glass.
All prints in my shop are original works of art that have been designed and hand-printed by me. I use oil-based printing inks and Rives BFK paper, unless otherwise noted. Due to the nature of reduction woodcuts (the block is destroyed during the process), there will never be more prints produced beyond the listed edition number. When they sell out, I cannot make any more. Consider yourself warned! For other less limited printmaking techniques, such as single-layer woodcut, collagraph or drypoint, please know that I hold to the same ethic in regard to edition size.
Most works in my online shop are available for sale either framed or unframed. Large format works are only available for sale unframed due to the increased risk of damage during shipping. I custom frame each piece with acid-free matting materials, regular glass* and aluminum frames. I use white mats and black frames, intended to highlight the artwork. If you prefer a different mat/frame/glass style, please order unframed work and seek out assistance at your local frame shop.
* Please note that UV glass is NOT required for protection of my prints. The use of any glass at all is solely to protect the piece from dust, moisture, puncture, etc. The pigments in my oil-based inks are just as light-fast as an oil painting on canvas. Would you place an oil painting behind UV glass? I didn't think so...
Please, no returns or exchanges on purchased prints. Contact me right away if you suspect any shipping damage. I cannot be held responsible for stolen packages.
Instructor Cancellations - If I must cancel a class for illness or emergency, you will be informed as soon as possible and your payment will be refunded in full. I assume no responsibility for any losses incurred due to materials purchases, etc.
Student Cancellations - A full refund (less a $10 cancellation fee) will be given for cancellations made prior to the registration deadline. Cancellations made after the registration deadline will be given no refund. In this case, I encourage you to find a friend to take your spot.
Workshop Safety - I will provide the best instruction I know regarding the proper safe use of block carving tools. However, they are sharp and can cause injury if used improperly. I cannot be held responsible for injuries that result from improper or unsafe tool usage.
All purchased unframed prints are securely packaged flat and sent via USPS Priority Mail for free within the United States. Some works are shipped via UPS on an as-needed basis. All framed works will be shipped via UPS. Smaller items like cards and calendars will be sent via USPS First Class Mail unless in combination with a larger order using a different shipping method. For other worldly destinations, please contact me first for a shipping quote before placing an order. Once payment is received, your order will typically be shipped within 5-7 business days, however, please allow up to 2-3 weeks for preparation and shipment of orders that contain framed prints. I am usually much quicker, but I will contact you if there are any delays on my end.
I also offer free local pickup... make an appointment to visit my studio for a physically distanced pickup and quick tour!
Orders placed within a 20-mile radius of my studio may also be personally delivered to you for free (physically-distanced, of course)! I reserve the right to ship via USPS or UPS (at no cost to you) depending on my schedule and availability.
