Under the hot, midday sun, the garden buzzes with life. Bees hurry about their tasks with single minded focus while the butterflies above flit about playfully as if finding flowers were a matter of happenstance. Oblivious to the activities around them, pollen covered soldier beetles indulge in all of life’s sweetness on the golden face of a sunflower. Hemera’s garden is teaming, hot and loud, a miniature city made of sunlight. Yet as the light recedes, Hemera releases her grip leaving her city to other gods born of the transience of time.
