Like so many diurnal creatures, I rarely experience the beauty and activity of my night garden. But on those restless nights, should I venture out into the dark, I find a world as vibrant with life as in the day. Bats dart about doing their best to control the mosquitos swarming me. The evening primrose is in full flower, her heavy scent perfuming the air. And as I brush past my slumbering perennials, a katydid leaps into flight and disappears into the light of the moon.
