Once, before the age of man, a diversity of creatures thrived in the dappled shade of giants. The land was rich, green and self-sustaining. But we felled the goliaths and burned away the life so we could plant rows and rows of sameness. Yet, deep below, in the ashes and loam, the ancestors await our collective enlightenment or our misguided annihilation with indifference.
